Account FAQ

Q: Why can't I access the Girls / Leaders section?

A: You don't have permission to. If already have an account, use the contact form to send a message to the site administrator, and let them know. If you don't have an account, you will need to ask your captain or state commissioner to have an account created. If they don't know how to, ask them to contact the national office.

Q: My old username and password don't work! What's happened?

A: As part of our transition to our new website, there are a few growing pains to deal with. One of these is that your account on the old website will not be carried over to the new one automatically. To register for the website, contact your company Captain and ask them to forward your details (Name, Email Address, Company and Rank) to the National Office. You will then have an account created for you and you will be notified via email.

Q: I can't remember my password or my username and so I can't login!

A: Go to the request new password page and either enter your username (usually your full name with a space between your first and last names) or your email address. A email will be sent to your account with your new password and a few other bits of information. If you have any trouble just use the contact form to send a message to the site administrator and they will fix you up.

Q: How do I change my password?

A: Click on 'My account' located in the 'My Account' menu at the bottom left of the page. Next click on 'edit' up near the top of the page. You should then be able to enter a new password.

Q: Can you explain how the permissions (levels of access) work?

A: There are four levels of access.

  1. The first and lowest is 'Visitor'. This is public access for anyone who wants to find out about Girls' Brigade. No account is necessary for this level. Visitors can view anything under the Visitors menu.
  2. The next level is 'Girl'. This level of access is granted to anyone who can get an account by applying through the National Office. It is meant for all members of Girls' Brigade. Girls can view anything in the Girls menu and Visitors menu.
  3. Next level up is 'Leader'. This level of access is granted to those who are leaders in a company or affiliated with the leadership structure. Leaders can access material under the Leaders, Girls and Visitors menus.
  4. The highest level of access is the 'Editor'. This level is reserved for those that can make changes to material on the website. They can access everything, even unpublished content. As this level is very powerful, it is only granted to a few.

Q: My question is not listed here, what should I do?

Use the contact form to send a message to the site administrator. They should be able to help you, and they may post the solution to your problem up here.
